Balloon Games

Here are balloon games children love to play at any party.

• Balloon Race -

To play this game the players line up and hold a balloon between their knees. The players then run, walk, wiggle or hop to a line at the end of a run. The balloon must not be held by a person’s hand. The balloon is placed back between their knees if it falls down. First player to reach the goal is the winner.

This game can be played by teams or individuals. A large pile of balloons is put in the centre of the room and each player or team is allocated an area of wall. On the word “Go” each player takes a balloon, rubs it on his or her clothing to create a static charge and attempts to stick it on the wall. When a player has one balloon stuck on the wall they go back to the pile and try to get another balloon to stick on the wall. After a certain period of time the game is stopped and the team or player with the most balloons on the wall is the winner.

• Balloon Burst -

Pick teams of two children per team. Have the pairs stand in a line, back to back, with a balloon held between their backs. On signal, they should press together and try to burst the balloon. If the balloon falls before breaking must pick the balloon up and try again. The first team to pop its balloon wins.

• Balloon Panic Attack -

Have all the children stand in a circle. Toss a balloon in the air and call someone's name. That person must catch the balloon before it touches the ground. If the person succeeds he/she then tosses the balloon up and calls the next name. If they don’t catch the balloon they sit down until only one player is left.

• Balloon Balance -

Try balancing a balloon on the end of your finger. Have a competition to see who can do it for the longest. The balloon must not be held, only balanced, and it must not be tapped. The finger must be in direct contact with the balloon at all times. The last person left balancing the balloon wins.

• Musical Balloon games -

Have all the children form a circle. Pass one balloon to a child and have them pass the balloon to the player on their right while you play some activity music. This continues until the music stops. If you have the balloon when the music stops you sit down. The balloon must not be dropped or thrown but just passed. We recommend very fast music.

• Balloon Blast -

Give each child a pair of balloons to blow up. Place a target 10 feet from the children and have them release their balloons to see who can get closest to a target. The winner is the one that is closest. All the balloons blasting around is sure to create a fun time.
